The first release of our LEGACY BLEND SERIES, a celebration of the art of blending African and Caribbean Heritages and of the remarkable journey of our namesake, Olaudah Equiano.
In Yoruba, a language spoken by many in West Africa where Equiano was born, OMINIRA means ” Freedom”. The Freedom to create and to marry vintage rums from two continents, two cultures, two distilleries. A rare blend of perfectly aged rums, respectively distilled by Foursquare and Gray’s Distilleries, and matured in Bourbon and Cognac casks with a touch of Sherry cask rum, contributing to its incredible depth and richness.
Matured for a minimum of 11 tropical years and bottled at 52% ABV, mirroring the age of our protagonist at the start of his extraordinary journey and at his passing in 1797, this creation is a true testament to the passage of time and the artistry of the blending process.
The result is an extraordinary piece of rum history — a libation that encapsulates Equiano's freedom and spirit. An invitation to celebrate, toast, and share with friends.
